students will use the COLOR THEORY AS WELL AS ADDITIVE AND SUBTRACTIVE COLOR MIXING TO CREATE a color wheel.
Directions-
1. Transfer the design from the centerpiece rough draft to the centerpiece of the Color Wheel template.
2. Label each circle in the order of the color wheel posted on the board and each section of the centerpiece design with the initial of the color you intend to paint it with.
3. Begin painting. Start with the Primary Colors first (1st Yellow, 2nd Red, 3rd Blue), then the Secondary Colors (1st Orange, 2nd Green, 3rd Purple).

Painting Order
Yellow- Paint the Yellow circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Yellow. Red- Paint the Red circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Red. Blue- Paint the Blue circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Blue. Orange- Paint the Orange circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Orange. Green- Paint the Green circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Green. Purple (Violet)- Paint the Purple circle and then any section in the centerpiece design that is going to be Purple. |
Mixing Paint-
In order to make the Secondary Colors, you must mix two Primary Colors together. Here is how to mix the Primary Colors to make the Secondary Colors. Start with mixing the darker color into the lighter color in small amounts (except when mixing Purple/Violet). 1. Orange- Mix Red into Yellow. 2. Green- Mix Blue into Yellow. 3. Purple/Violet- Mix Red into Blue. |
